Author Biographies

Megen de Bruin-Molé, University of Southampton

Dr. Megen de Bruin-Molé (she/any) is Associate Professor of Digital Media Practice with the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, Co-Director of the Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics (CIIP) research group, and Co-Director of the London Science Fiction Research Community. She specialises in fantastical fiction and “monstrous” remix, in particular the digital afterlives and appropriations of historical archives, ephemera, and memory in popular culture. Megen is also an editor with the Critical Posthumanism Network’s Genealogy project, and co-edited the Palgrave Handbook of Critical Posthumanism. Amy Brooks, University of Reading

Dr. Amy Brookes is an architect and associate professor in architecture at the University of Reading with a specialization in architectural representation and communication. She is one of the co-founders of the architectural collective Involve, and the Beyond Gender Research Collective. Amy’s research explores the way the fictional worlds we construct influence and reflect the world we inhabit, writing about utopian thought and the imaginary in architecture through science fiction literature. Notable publications include: “Made Up Ground: Architecture, Science Fiction, and the Surface of Imagined Worlds” in Architecture and Culture and “The Present as Past: Science Fiction and the Museum,” in the Open Library of the Humanities.
